Person Lifesycle available in Business Rules
Twan Duvigneau
Today the new Person lifecycle feature released, which enabled sending pre- on- and offboarding mails. However this functionality would be great for Business rules as well.
For Example:
When selecting pre-onboarding in the business rule an Entitlement will be granted for only the pre-onboarding period configured in Person lifecycle. So the permission will be revoked on the start date of the employee.
(See screenshot for example)
Currently its not possible to give access to entiltements x days before start until the start date, which is something i had multiple customers ask me.

Twan Duvigneau He Twan, isn't the option you're looking for the Days before start and Days after end option? This option allows - values so you can make the days after end a days before (this is also shown in the text when a - value is used). Is this a solution for your request?

Rick van den Dijssel: Hi Rick, what we're trying to achieve is to give a permission to a user from 14 days before active until the person becomes active. Currently we can indeed grant a permission X days before, but the revoke is only possible X days before/after inactive person. Which means you can't select the day the person becomes active. So that won't suffice unfortunately. That's why I figured the person lifecycle would be a great feature to use for this kind of functionality.
(The goal were trying to achieve with the customer is to grant an enables ad account with very limited permissions so the person can submit certain information. These permissions have to be revoked when person is active)

Twan Duvigneau: I agree that this option would be a nice feature in the business rules.
However, can you not achieve your use case by using the Post AD actions to grant the groupmemberships upon Account Create and revoke the groupmemberships upon Account Enable?
It's not the best solution, but might be a solution to your use case.

Ramon Schouten: we indeed did that ;)
However, it's not something I really like that much, cause it's not as visual as a business rule. Which will be harder for our customers to understand.
