Disable creation of new end-user dashboard notifications

Over time, we've seen a significant decline in the use of end-user dashboard notifications. Despite this, the feature continues to heavily impact our databases and HelloID's overall performance. As a result, we will deprecate the feature in the HelloID 2024.12 release, which will disable the creation of new end-user dashboard notifications. The feature will be fully removed in the HelloID 2025.03 release.
The end-user notifications are configured in the HelloID admin portal and are shown on the end-user dashboard. See: https://docs.helloid.com/en/settings/notification-settings/add,-edit,-or-remove-a-notification.html
This has no effect on the notification center in the top right corner containing for example the approval notifications.

Michiel,
When HelloID is working normally we would not think of using this notification feature. Email would be our normal channel to communicate routine information to our users. The service outage that occurred today, concurrent with the update that deprecated the notifications feature, is exactly the type of circumstance where we would find using notifications to be a very important mechanism of communicating to our staff. Instead we experienced a frustrating situation where we had a service outage that blocked many of our users from accessing email, and we had no means to alert them to the service outage in the first place.
Please reconsider this decision to remove the notifications feature.

Keith Obermeier: Thank you for your response and for sharing your concerns. We are doing our utmost to prevent disruptions like the one yesterday, but unfortunately, we were unable to do so this time. Ofcource, we will evaluate this internally and make adjustments to the software or procedures as needed. However, this is separate from the reason we are phasing out this feature.
There is another option for sharing a brief message with HelloID users, which is the free text on the login screen named "Enable Text On Login Page". You can find more information on the following documentation page: https://docs.helloid.com/en/access-management/identity-providers--idps-/idp-settings-reference.html.
