User disable triggers Product return
complete

When a user gets disabled (usually through an IAM system offboard) it should be able to trigger all products that are assigned to be automatically returned. Return action per product can be started in that way. Examples are, unassign from AD groups, return tickets for laptops/phones/etc..)
[edit]
Solution
- Using HelloID User's disable event
- Add option to product "Remove ownership on user disable"
- Update product API's with new attribute "Remove ownership in user disable"
- All tasks on return state will be triggered
- Update API Docs

Also, when a person leaves an existing contract and joins a new contract (automated with provisioning), the current assigned products (through service automation) should be revised. A signal to the manager / product owners may be a way to achieve this instead of unassigning all of the entitlements without question.

Mike van Eck: That won't be part of this feature. We will launch new API's for product assignment and product return in the 2022.06 release. See https://helloid.canny.io/service-automation/p/enhanced-api-support-for-product-ownership-and-product-task-running

Return product using API
Arnout van der Vorst
I would like to return a product using the API. When using provisioning, I would like to be able to create a target system which automatically returns a product when offboarding a person.

couldn't you use "/api/v1/productownership" (GET/DELETE) in a custom powershell target for this?

Arnout van der Vorst is this kind of similar request? https://feedback.helloid.com/service-automation/p/user-disable-triggers-all-product-return
Arnout van der Vorst
Michiel van der Veeken: Yes it seems so, I get more requests for closer integration between SA and Prov.

Would really like to see some updating on this as it makes no sense that when an users gets disabled all products remain owned. Specially with products that holds a license count. This makes something like a license count totally useless.

Melanie Remy: This feature is currently not planned, but Under Consideration. As soon as we place this feature request on the roadmap you will get an update.

I'd like to add that this should be optional.
Perhaps on by default, but there are some situations in which you don't want to immediately return a product or groupmemberships.
Also I'd like to add the point that this perhaps should have the choice between actually triggering the return action and not triggering this.
I can imagine situations in which the actions configured for the return flow might possibly not work when the user is disabled.
